Prayer Letter October 2000

Dear Praying Friends,
To be a part of services where people are saved is always a blessing as this month has been. Another joy is being able to tell others about our ministry.

We have spent most of the last month in Odessa, Texas with our sending church. We have had a few meetings with other churches in the area, but most of the month was spent meeting with pastors either personally or on the phone. Lord willing, we will be back in West Texas for the months of January and February. We have already scheduled several meetings during that time.

We have been blessed to be with family much of this time. In our last letter we mentioned David's grandmother having a struggle with cancer. While we were in Texas, we spent three weeks at her house. It has been good to be with family at this special time. Please continue to pray for her.
Next stop: Central Florida. We will be teaching a two week Sign Language class. Training others to work with the Deaf is what we love and are burdened to do. This is exactly what we plan to spend most of our time doing on the field.

Our prayer cards have been sent to the printer! We should have them back in early November. It has been a little different being in churches and not leaving something to help the people remember us. If you would like to donate to the prayer card project, we are still $50 short.

We have made official application to Baptist International Outreach. The board will be a help to us in two areas specifically. First with our finances in the areas of accountability and taxes. The second area is working with the governments of foreign countries. They have been able to get Deaf Missionaries into some countries that have been closed to traditional Missionaries. We look forward to their assistance as we try to make wise decisions in our service for the Lord.

Any current support, or special offerings should still be sent to Calvary Baptist Church until we have full status with the board. Our official standing with the board may take several months. Even after we have everything in place you may send support through the church who will then report that to the bookkeeping department at the board.

Many people have asked when we plan to be on the field. I answer that we would like to be there within a year. That is not realistic when you look at statistics for Missionaries raising support, but it is possible with God. What is needed for that to happen is for churches and individuals to quickly decide on possible support for our ministry. But having 100% of our financial support in a year's time will be worthless unless we have people who are committed to praying for us. I am convinced that if we had the money, but no prayer, our work would be hindered. The positive side is that when you pray, God will supply the money. We will be on the field faster, and with better support. Will you please join us in this work? Your prayers will get us to the field. Through prayer, God will guide us daily in how to carry out His work.

Sincerely,
David and Stephanie Peach
