Family
My wife Margie and I live on Lake Norman North of Charlotte. Margie has a degree in chemistry and works for Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. I was born Feb 8 1950. (This puts me about the age of most good antiques.) One daughter and our son are out of the nest and on their own. Our other daughter Ashley just got her Masters in Archeology from Alabama and is getting her Doctorate there now. We are active members of The ARP Church, Christian Motorcycle Association, Life members of ARRL, American Modelers Association and the Harley Owners Group (HOG).

Amateur Radio
In 1994 Margie and I got our Amateur Radio License. We have enjoyed the hobby ever since. I enjoy VE testing, operating county EOC's during hurricanes and other emergencies.
Motorcycle Mobile and Aeronautical Mobile Homebuilt Ultralite
Home Station and Work Mobile

I will take a turn on the hurricane nets when needed. I have been president, vice president and secretary of Amateur Radio Clubs in the Carolinas. HF is my passion and I got my ticket to talk DX. I enjoy code too but my CW is terrible. I enjoy most all that our hobby offers. My mobiles include my truck with HF, my homebuilt ultralite with 2m and APRS, my motorcycle with 2m 440 and APRS. Flying full-scale airplanes and anything to do with models, building or flying will always get my attention.

Work
I grew up working in my fathers Lumber Company in Mississippi. Some of the jobs I had in high school and college included wiring houses, equipment operator, field engineer, building kitchen cabinets and photography. In 1972 I built my first job, as Superintendent on a new building project and that's what I am still doing now.
Condo Project in North Myrtle Beach
Some of the projects I have been privileged to manage include the US Air Hangar in Charlotte, which was the worlds larges clear span cantilevered structure in the world at the time it was built. It is 240'deep 125'tall 600' long without any columns inside. I just finished two 17-story beachfront condos with an 8 story-parking garage. There are 450 units in this $56m project. Now I am working on a hospital expansion in Laurinburg NC.

I hold a General Contractors License and Home Inspection License in North and South Carolina, Certified Post Tension Inspector, and Medical Gas Inspector Certification. When I retire from my GC work I will continue Inspection work part time.

Greetings from Mooresville NC !
