Here are some pictures I took at the dinner after Colleen and Kevin's wedding on Saturday October 28, 2000.

This page is not accessible from any links on my web pages so unless you know the exact address of this web page you will not be able to reach it.

Unfortunately I did not get any pictures of Colleen and Kevin together... Maybe I can get them to scan me one to put up here?

I took the pictures with my Fuji DX-10 digital camera.

It was a wonderful weekend.   The weather was terrific.  The ceremony at Cypress Gardens was beautiful.

If anyone else took pictures and they would like to share them, if you can scan them please do so and send them to me by email.   If you don't have access to a scanner please feel free to drop me a line and we'll work something out!

I also have some pictures of GinnFest 2000 that I will put up soon too.

I'm not terribly good at being spontaneous.   A few things did come to me but that was about the time Mr. McGinn was toasting Colleen and Kevin and I thought it improper to follow the father of the bride.

So, here I go a few days late ...

I've known Kevin just over eight years.  We met in college, when I joined the University of South Florida Amateur Radio Club during my junior year (third year.)  Kevin was studying Political Science and I, Computer Engineering.  We'd probably never have met had it not been for our mutual interest in ham radio.   As hams we both find interest in service to community through disaster communication preparedness.

It was that same type interest that led Kevin to become quite active with the American Red Cross in their volunteer disaster work. Kevin met Colleen because she also became active with the Red Cross while she was working here in Florida.

It dawned on me late on Saturday at the dinner that I met Colleen for the first time exactly three years prior to the wedding when I ran into Kevin and Colleen during a Guavaween (a big event held just before Halloween at Ybor City in Tampa) just before Halloween 1998.   Kevin briefly introduced me to Colleen and I was on my way because I was with a group of friends along with two of my sisters.

It was when Kevin and Colleen moved from Tampa to Clearwater that I started to get to know Colleen better.  Colleen and Kevin would invite me out to have dinner or catch a movie or even go to Epcot.

I always enjoyed doing things with Colleen and Kevin.   In early summer 1999 I was invited to GinnFest.  Kevin kept telling me about GinnFest - and I wanted to go, but due to a new job that started the first week of August I couldn't.  I planned ahead and come summer 2000 I was going make sure I could go.

Only Joey had met me previously before she moved back to Toronto from Miami.

I was fortunate to meet many more of Colleen's friends (from childhood, camp and college) and her Mom and Dad and sister Erin.

It was really amazing to see such a wide array of friends that come from so many parts of Colleen's life all converge for GinnFest.    Colleen had maintained so many friendships throughout the years!   I arrived not knowing what to expect, but I left having made new friends.  I was happy that Colleen and Kevin had encouraged me to come.

Then here we are just after Colleen and Kevin's big weekend! It was great to see all the Cardwell and McGinn family members who came to witness the joining of Colleen and Kevin.   It was wonderful to see so many of Colleen's friends come so far to be part of the biggest day so far of Colleen and Kevin's life.

I wish them success and good fortune!  I consider myself fortunate to be called a friend by Colleen and Kevin.   They are wonderful people and deserve nothing but the best!    Cheers!
