The above plate is on one of my personal vehicles. This license plate explains a lot. RU51502 Translated... People committed under authority of Welfare and Institutions code section 5150 are some times referred to as "crazy" or "mentally ill." So the license plate is asking "Are you crazy too?"
I am involved in amateur radio, as an operator, with the call sign of KM6VC... That's (K)ilo (M)ike (6)six (V)ehicle (C)op. I hold WAC, WAS, and DXCC certificates for the contacts I have made throughout the world. I am an Advanced class operator, and have been since 1992. I am not currently DXing since my rooftop antenna was blown off the roof in a major wind storm. When I am up and operating, I use a Kenwood TS 450S for DXing with a Cushcraft RX-7 vertical antenna forty feet above the ground. This setup has enabled me to contact 157 DXCC countries and confirm 135 of the contacts. For local UHF/VHF operations, I use a Kenwood TS-741 Tri-Bander, a Kenwood TH-77A Dual Band handheld, a Racal 2m handheld, and a Wouxun KG-UV3D Dual Band handeld. Though currently I do not have the time to be actively involved, I am one of the founding owners of the Southern California and Arizona Repeater Association (SCARA). I am involved in both Huntington Beach RACES and the Orange County American Red Cross
I have been involved with computers at home and at work for about twentynine years. I originally started my home repertoire with an Apple II computer system in 1983. Through the years, I have had several Apple (or Franklin) computers, numerous Compaq computers, a homebrew computer system produced by Karl Beilby, and now a Sony Vaio 430G. I am currently the webmaster of the website for the Western States Auto Theft Investigators (WSATI) Association and the Orange County Auto Theft Task Force (OCATT). |
