KM4JA's Amateur Radio Web Page

This is my personal web page. WELCOME!!

This web site is maintained by Harvey Luke, KM4JA.

I currently live in Ozark, Alabama .

In the over 30 years of being a ham, I have been active in occasional rag chewing, a little DX, county hunting, packet, RTTY and pactor, but mostly "tinkering."

My current interest is the new mode of PSK31. A good article describing this HF digital mode is found in May, 1999 QST. If you don't have QST, you can go to The Official PSK31 WWW Homepage to find out more about this new mode. It has very narrowbandwidth, which will allow more stations in already crowded band (all that is really needed is 100 Hz.) Also, it is great for weak signal work. I can use my cw filter receive position and tune in a PSK31 station that is right next to a Pactor signal. Tune in to 14.070 Mhz and listen for the warble-like tones.

I am married to Janie Matthews Luke, KC4ZUM of Florence, Alabama. I have two grown, married daughters, Hannah Peters of Dothan, and Amy Brown, KD4CHV. I also have two grandsons,  Nathan and Luke Aaron
