THE ALASKA ISLAND RUNNERS ARE PLANNING A TRIP TO NA-158 FIRE ISLAND, STAY TUNED!
We have the gear and the guys for a full multi/multi operation with amps and antennas The club is working on getting the permits and transportation to the island. The Cook inlet has the second highest and lowest tides in the world next to the Bay of Fundy in Nova Scotia. It is a very dangerous place for boating due to the fast currents and shallow water. So we are working on funding the means of a helicopter trip. The island is only a 10 minute flight from Anchorage but helicopters are very expensive. Updates will be posted here and the IOTW pages.
