The latest addition to the HF equipment is a kit by Elecraft. It's their K2 and is a synthesised rig with built-in keyer, auto ATU and variable crystal filter. A joy to build because of the lack of inter-board wiring and excellent support from Elecraft themselves and the mailing list of enthusiasts, the K2 is currently in construction for all bands from 160 to 10m. I'm planning to become active with PSK31, a new narrow-band radio-teletype mode, ideal for today's crowded bands and a good antidote to the ghastly "chain-saw noises" of PACTOR that spread right down into the QRP CW segment of the bands!
