KIDZ Featured in Women of Space: Cool Careers on the Final Frontier by Laura Woodmansee

Mary-Frances was included in this book predominently for her work as a NASA Solar System Ambassador, most of which utilizes amateur radio.  Frequently she serves as "net control" for the Colorado Astronomy Net.  She has also helped with the Colorado AMSAT Net.1  Though KIDZ is presently a stay-at-home-mom, she was ecstatic to learn she was included in the book solely for her volunteer work.

1 "Nets" are "on air" meetings using amateur radio.  Participants can "check in" from their homes, vehicles, or wherever they may be.  The "net control" is the person who runs the meeting.
