KIØDZ Featured in Women of Space: Cool Careers on the Final Frontier by Laura Woodmansee

Mary-Frances was included in this book predominently for her work as a NASA Solar System Ambassador, most of which utilizes amateur radio.  Frequently she serves as "net control" for the Colorado Astronomy Net.  She has also helped with the Colorado AMSAT Net.¹  Though KIØDZ is presently a stay-at-home-mom, she was ecstatic to learn she was included in the book solely for her volunteer work.

¹ "Nets" are "on air" meetings using amateur radio.  Participants can "check in" from their homes, vehicles, or wherever they may be.  The "net control" is the person who runs the meeting.
