OK, I'm a little hard to find. I'm sitting on a 10 mile by 40 mile island in the South Pacific. Although we're a short flight from Honolulu, we're lightyears away in lifestyle. We have zero traffic signals, one barber, two ATMS, three gas stations, and four small grocery stores. We moved to Moloka'i to get away from the hectic lifestyle of SoCal, but this may have been extreme.

I run a shortwave station for the Aeronautical  Mobile service where I have ten 5 kilowatt shortwave transmitters and 450 acres of antennas. My site handles the radio communications for all aircraft crossing the Pacific. Try listening on 8873 or 5547 KHz.

We don't really live in a grass shack

I've been licensed for 24 years, but have been inactive for quite a while. For the past 15 years I've only been on UHF FM in Southern California.. Now that I'm on Molokai I just bought an HF rig....a TS-820S. I'm sentimental for the old 820 because that was the rig I used for my first contact. Besides setting up antennas for HF I'm also building a 440 system that I hope to connect to other systems on the mainland through the internet.

In October 2000 I changed my call from WA6OPQ to KH6OPQ.

Laura and I have been married 11 years, my two kids (Bill-20 and Kathy-17) live with their mother in Missouri.  Laura's two kids (and our three grandkids) live in Las Vegas. With the kids out of the house, we're able to take off and be a little crazy.
