In the San Francisco Bay area communities of Fremont, Newark and Union City, CERT Comm volunteers are Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)  members who have obtained additional skills in emergency communication.     In a disaster CERT Comm members will maintain communication between any Search and Rescue teams their district deploys and the district's Staging Area. They also assist their Teams by providing communication between their district's Staging Area and the ARES Radio Net Control.
