To:

Do the following

Turn the radio on

Press the POWER key

Adjust the volume

Repeated press the UP or DOWN keys

Adjust the squelch

While holding the FUNCTION button, repeatedly press either the UP or DOWN keys.

Set the frequency

  1. If
  2. M or C is displayed, press the A key.
  3. Using the keypad, enter all 6 digits of the desired frequency

Change to Simplex

If a + or is displayed, hold the FUNCTION button and press the 2 key until they disappear.

Set offset for repeater (duplex) operation

  1. Hold the
  2. FUNCTION button and press the 2 key until either a + (for positive offset) or a (for negative offset appears. Release the FUNCTION button.
  3. The offset frequency
  4. 0.60 should be displayed. If it is not, or a different frequency is desired, rotate the dial until the desired offset frequency is displayed.
  5. Briefly press
  6. PUSH TO TALK.

Set tone encode (PL)

  1. Press and hold the
  2. FUNCTION button, then press the 4 key until a T is displayed. Release the FUNCTION key.
  3. Rotate the dial until the desired tone frequency is displayed.
  4. Briefly press
  5. PUSH TO TALK.

Change power

Press and hold the FUNCTION button, then press the LAMP H/L key. An L is displayed when the radio is set to low power.

  3. Rotate the dial until the desired memory is displayed.

Store settings in memory

  2. M is not displayed, press the A key.
  3. Rotate the dial to select the desired memory.
  4. Press the
  5. A key to enter VFO mode.
  6. Set up all radio parameters: frequency, offset, tone, etc.
  7. Press and hold the
  8. FUNCTION button, then press the A key. Release the FUNCTION button.
