Amateur Radio
This is my page devoted to Amateur Radio. Here I will share some of my ham
radio memories, as well as what I enjoy doing. Right now I only operate repeaters and VHF/UHF simplex. I need to ask you to bear with me for a few weeks while I update this information. Most of it is out of date, for example I am now a General Class Licensee, and I have a 10 meter rig in the car now. That is not on the site. I hope to make this site a lot better as I switch to writing my own HTML rather than using an editor (FrontPage). I am, however, going to leave the content online, so you can get a General (no pun intended) idea of what I am up to. I am usually on the air while mobile, but sometimes fixed or portable. I earned my
Technician ticket in 2001. Since then I have done a lot of community service and participated in many emergency preparedness drills. I hold quite a few memberships in local clubs including the ARRL, Albemarle
Amateur Radio Club, Lynchburg Amateur Radio Club, Waynesboro Repeater
Association of Virginia, and ARES/RACES. I am a founding member of the
Virginia Young Radio Amateurs' Assn. Right now I am working on the code
for an exam July 20th.
I also run
Automatic Position Reporting System (APRS) from my TinyTrack3 while mobile.
