Hello, my name is Robby Lock, and my amateur radio callsign is KG4PLK. I have been a licensed amateur radio operation since I was 11 years old, and my license was granted on September 28th, 2001. In June of 2006 I FINALLY upgraded to General, (and currently pursuing an upgrading to Extra class, once I can find the time to study!). I'm working on becoming more active on the High Frequency bands, and one of my goals is to work DXCC. I am the net manager of the North Alabama D-STAR net, and an Assistant Emergency Coordinator for Madison County, AL. I have been an active member of the Huntsville Amateur Radio Club (Currently the Vice-President), the North Alabama DX Club, the Huntsville/UAH chapter of the American Meteorlogical society, and also an electrical engineering intern at the Q-Track Corportation (see www.q-track.com). I am a certified Advanced Storm spotter from the National Weather Service office in Huntsville, AL, as well as Birmingham, AL. I also volunteer at the Huntsville-Madison County Emergency Management Agency ( www.madisoncountyema.com ), and the National Weather Service in Huntsville, AL ( www.srh.noaa.gov/hun ). I am proud to have been awarded the Alabama Young Ham Of The Year in 2006-2007. I am also a Net Controller for the North Alabama D-STAR Net (If Your Interested, LET ME KNOW (SEE BELOW FOR CONTACT INFO), the Madison County ARES net, as well as the North Alabama Skywarn Net. My other hobbies include electrical engineering, meteorology, photography, cars, and reading, (even though I don't read that many books).
