hello to all, my handle here is ronnie. i am from Tuscaloosa, Alabama. i currently only own an old midland mobile rig (model 13-505) that was given to me, and a yeasu vertex vx-150 2meter ht. the midland is crystal operated, and only has 12 channels in it but they are not all full though. i have it hooked up to a twinlead tv wire J-pole that i built using diagrams off of the internet. and surprisingly enough it really works. i WAS using a radio shack power supply but its only a 1.75 amp ps, and a friend lent me an astron rs-20a ps and i have noticed a great improvement on my transmissions.

i am currently net manager for the West Alabama Amateur Radio Society on the 147.300+ repeater with no pl tone. though i am a newly licensed ham, i have been around it alot in my years, having friends that are "old hams" such as KC4RJK (who doesnt quite remember me hehehehe). i plan to learn the morse code so that i can advance in our great hobby.
