Profile:

Muto, Jun KG2EC

A lot of people here in the United States pronounce my first name like: juuun or june: however, my name supposed to be pronounced like jun. No expanding sound!

-1993 7N2HJY: licensed in Yokohama, Japan
-1995 KG2EC: licensed in Ft. Lee, NJ
-1999 coming to the University of Kansas as an exchange student. Trying to do some DX from K0KU but no luck.

Right after I got a novice ticket (forth class license in Japan), I enjoyed 2m FM rag-chew. We have a big U.S. military base in Yokosuka. Therein, I had chance to get along with American hams. This is why I got the FCC ham radio license! (In order to get the Japanese 1st class license, I must show fluency in the Japanese Morse code (wabun) test. We have about 50 respective letters in our language. Therefore, it is obviously hard to learn than aquiring English codes.I hesitate to learn these code somehow. This also helped me to get the FCC license- a kind of by-pass.

I made numbers of QSO on 40m CW mainly with domestic stations. I enjoyed the JCC award: however, the activity stopped as I got a QSL card for the 140th city. After I got in to college, I often operated from a club station: JK1ZWW, Shounandai Culture Centre Amatuer Radio Club. The way of American hams speak fascinated me a lot. (I always agree that Americans have native ability to communicate so fluently.)

Clubs I belonged to:
7J1YAA (TIARA)
7J2YAA (Hamamatsu Novice Club)
JK1ZWW
