Industry
Hills REACTIndustry Hills REACT is a civic service organization of volunteers who serve their communities and travelers alike with reliable emergency two-way radio communications. Our purpose includes:
A) developing the use of citizens, general mobile, business and amateur radio services as an additional source of communications for emergencies and disasters;
B) promotion of the proper use of CB channel 9 and other frequencies like it through public information programs; and
C) the coordination of efforts with all public safety organizations and other emergency groups during times of local or regional emergency or disaster.
(E) providing "event support" such as health and welfare observation, parking, and traffic control.
Industry Hills REACT monitors Citizen Band channel 9 for every type of emergency transmission. CB channel 9 is the only nationally recognized citizens emergency channel in the personal radio service which doesn't require a license. We also provide, as a secondary service, communications assistance for special events throughout our communities as requested free of charge. However we do graciously except donations. Industry Hills REACT is a subordinate organization of REACT International, Inc. who has its headquarters in Suitland, MD and works with other national groups such as Civil Defense, American Red Cross, Salvation Army, and the American Radio Relay League. REACT stands for Radio Emergency Associated Communications Teams. There are at the present about 350 teams nationwide in the organization containing 5,005 members. Industry Hills REACT is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and is totally independent so we may tailor our operations to suit our local needs and conditions. We are financed only by member dues, fund raisers, and private and corporate donations which are tax deductible.
