The Disrtict 7 and 8 MRX Skywarn Net was created to provide Skywarn Spotters in this area with a more efficent and faster means of communcications for the passing of severe weather inforamtion between spotters and the National Weather Service. The Net is held on the 146.610 repeater which is owned and operated by Eddie Palmer K4JP, the repeater was once plauged by pager interference, but is now fully operational and providing communications for a VERY WIDE area. The Training Net or weekly net is held each Wednesday Night at 9:30 PM, check-ins are welcome from spotters anywhere in the region as well as non spotters at certain times in the net.

   

This net features a system of status levels...
GREEN - Non emergency..... Examples are: training nets and drills.
YELLOW - Watches.......Whenever a watch has been issued for the area
or there is a threat of severe weather.

RED - Warnings ....whenever the NWS issues a warning for the area or the assistance of spotters is needed

   

The net's status level is announced at the beginning and end.
