The second committee meeting is scheduled for August 27, 2002 at the Village Inn on West Hillsborough Av. The meeting will begin around 9:30 - 10:00 AM.
The committee has been busy with the site selection for our reunion picnic. The committee visited a number of parks and evaluated each facility that could fit our needs.All Hillsborough County parks now require a non-refundable reservation fee.Two parks in Pinellas County were also checked. They do not require a fee but space was unavailable for the October 26, 2002 date the committee selected at the previous meeting.
We are happy to report that we were able to secure a picnic shed at Lake Park in NW Hillsborough County. Thanks to Joe Fara's excellent presentation we were able to get the reservation fee waved. The Lake Park facility has space for 75 to 100 attendees. Power and water is available. (Please see Lake Park information located on this web page)
Several of our committee members met with the Egypt Temple Shrine Radio club and the BEARS,(St. Joseph Hospital)Radio club. Permission was granted to use both their respective repeaters for our Talk-In activities the day of the picnic.

A meeting was held on July 30th, at the Village Inn on W. Hillsborough at 9:30 AM to discuss plans for the reunion.
Lake Park, 17302 N. Dale Mabry, phone (813) 264-3806. This 600-acre park consists of five lakes and numerous pine flatwoods and hardwood hammocks. Activities include fishing, picnicking, BMX track, radio-controlled car track, and archery range. It is the site of the Bakas Equestrian Center for handicapped riders.
