The KF4OYS Node
And PBBS
(Rome's Only Packet Node) Well I have the only Packet node in
Rome Georgia. The Node's callsign is KF4OYS-5. The PBBS's callsign is KF4OYS-1.
They run on 145.510 Mhz at 1200 baud. You might not be able to connect
to it directly if you are in a low lying area, south of Mt. Alto, north
of Lavender Mtn, or in extreme east Rome. If you can't get in to it directly,
you can connect to it by typing " c kf4oys-1 via jasper " This will link
to me via the jasper node. If this dosen't work the node is not on. I turn
it off when I am in bed or when I am away from the house. I have the latest
Georgia ARES news in the PBBS. Here is the approximate location: Latitude: 34.294000 Longitude: -85.23730 Grid Square: EM74JH Some future plans for the node and
pbbs are: Internet access, E-Mail capabilities, this means you will be
able to send e-mail over the pbbs or vice versa and a 9600 baud link on
440.
