FIELD DAY 1998

Madison County ARES operated Field Day 1998 as part of a joint operation affectionately known as "Hams Having Fun in Kentucky". Operating under the callsigns of AA4NJ and KE4WHY (Novice/Technician station), the Eastern Amateur Radio Society, Wilderness Trail Amateur Radio Club and members of the Estill County Ham Operators joined together for a single Field Day site and a chance to get together, eat and have a little fun. Suffice it to say that we did well (better than the previous year) and are already looking forward to next year. If a picture tells a thousand words, we hope you enjoy our "scrapbook."

Before: 4PM Saturday Afternoon "Let's go get them!"
After: 4AM Sunday Morning "What is our callsign again?"
OK, OK . . .some roughed it more than others. Maybe the Novice station should be in charge of shelters next year!
"Here's your sign!"
"Where did he go? I know I heard him!"
15 Meters warmed up!
