Who Are We? The Madison County Amateur Radio Emergency Service is a volunteer organization formed under the leadership of the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) to provide emergency communications for the people of Madison County, Kentucky, when other means are unavailable or overloaded due to an emergency situation.

Where Are We? Madison County is located in Central Kentucky, just south of Lexington. The group operates on the 146.865 repeater (negative offset, PL 192.8) in Richmond, Kentucky and holds a weekly net on Monday evenings at 7:00 PM local time. Our secondary repeater is 146.715 (negative offset,PL 100.0) in Berea, Kentucky.

Who Can Join? Membership is open to any licensed Amateur Radio operator in Madison County.Those living outside the county are encouraged to participate in our nets and receive any information posted on this Web page, but should join their local ARES organization. If there is no local organization, we'll be glad to help you start one!
