For those persons coming to the Region 2 Conference in Cleveland, TN on August 6, 7, and 8th, and flying into the Chattanooga Airport, if you need transportation from the airport to the hotel in Cleveland, contact Larry Ledford or Joe Johnson to arrange for pickup at the airport. Greetings Region 2 MARS Member:  The 2004 Region Two MARS Conference will be held at the Holiday Inn Mountain View 2400 Executive Park Drive NW (Exit 25 I-75), Cleveland TN 37312,  Lat.  35° 12M 5.738 N, Lon. 84°  53M 11.713 W, on August 6, 7 & 8, 2004.  The Holiday Inn is located at Exit 25 of Interstate 75.  A talk in station will be available Friday afternoon and on Saturday morning.  It will be manned by Chuck AFA2YO/WB4GRB use the USAF repeater pair 142.150/143.450 or the Cleveland Repeater 147.78/147.18 tone 118.8HZ.  Registration will start at 10AM on Friday August 6, 2004 with a meeting for region officials at 7PM.  Registration will start again at 7AM on Saturday August 7, 2004.  Meetings will start at 8AM.  Morning, lunch and afternoon breaks are scheduled. The agenda and speakers will be announced later. The banquet will start at 7PM. Any remaining business will be concluded on Sunday Aug. 8, 2004.   Special room rates have been arranged for the Holiday Inn of $62.95 Plus tax

Please make your room reservation and conference & banquet reservations by no later than July 4, 2004.  The cost of the Banquet is $18.25 per person; the conference registration is $20.00 per MARS member.  Please use the enclosed form to make your conference and banquet reservations. Directions To the Holiday Inn in Cleveland TN:

From I75 Southbound    Take Exit 25 turn left onto 25th St./ Georgetown Road, turn at the very next right, go to the very top of the hill, the motel will be on the left.

From I-75 Northbound    Take Exit 25, Turn right onto 25th St., go under the interstate, take the next right, go up to the very top of the hill, the motel will be on the left.

Additional Reservation Information:

A schedule will be handed out at registration. A directory  of  Cleveland‘s attractions and other eating places will be available. The Holiday Inn serves breakfast but not lunch on Saturday. RV parking is permitted but no hookups are available.  A KOA campground  located at Exit 20 I-75  5 miles South of the Holiday Inn.

Dining will be buffet style, the menu has not been selected yet but will be sent to you by Email. Anyone with special menu needs please note on your registration form.  No liquor will be  available at the motel but there are several restaurants within a short drive  that serve liquor by the drink. Coffee will be furnished at our morning and afternoon breaks.                               

Please join us at the conference. This could be a great start or finish to a family vacation. We are a short drive from scenic Chattanooga, Missionary Ridge, Chickamauga and Lookout Mountain. All are historic civil war battle sites.

Downtown Chattanooga has many new things to see such as the Aquarium, Discovery Museum and the Hunter Art Museum. Rock City and Ruby falls are on Lookout Mountain. In neighboring Polk County there is white water rafting and kayaking on the Ocoee River. We are about 125 miles from Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge in the Great Smokies.

Dollywood and many other attractions are available there. Your family will love it.
