Dist. 9 Exercise
Results and Opinions of the Exercise on 12/9/98
Let me first say, Thanks to all the EC's, AEC's & amateur's, of Dist. 9 that paticipated in the Terrorism Exercise on 12/9/98. This being the first of its type in Dist. 9, I feel, with what little training that we had as a whole, we done a great job with this exercise. I would like to mention one amateur that should be reconized a little more than the others and that's Willard, KF4MNF. He was stationed at the Armory in Prestonsburg, where the DES Area 9 EOC was. There was a lot of messages past to and from Marsha Salyer the Director, thru Willard, and he done a great job handling those messages.
Marsha, informed me on Tuesday, that she wanted the messages past to and from the Area 9 EOC in the most informal and simplest format. I think we accomplished that task. As ARES members, we are there to assist in any means possible. We are a player in the game and we must abide by the rules that are presented to us.
We will discuss this a little be more on the net this Tuesday night. If you have a comment or question, or opion about the exercise, please voice it.
I would like to meet with as many EC's and AEC's as possible in order to discuss the pro's and con's of this exercise. Maybe after the holidays, we could all get together on a weekend, and discuss this matter.
There was some pictures taken at the Magoffin EOC and maybe some of the other counties took some also. If there was , would you please get in touch or send a copy of them to me. We will have those pictures available to view here as soon as they can be developed.
If you would like to make a comment about this Exercise, please get in touch with me, either on the 145.190 or by email.
