The Covington County Skywarn Group operates on a Primary Frequency of
147.260. (100hz tone) This repeater is located in Andalusia, Alabama.
The frequencies 147.260 simplexand 146.570 Simplex are used
in the case of repeater mal-function.


The Okaloosa County Skywarn utilizes the 147.360 repeater
in Crestview, Florida for thier North EOC and the 146.790
repeater in Ft. Walton for the South EOC.

All severe watches and warnings that are released by the National Weather Service Office in Mobile, Alabama that affect South Central Alabama (Covington County)
and the Western Florida Panhandle are usually passed on both
the 147.260(100hz tone) and the 147.360 repeaters!

These Frequencies are monitored by Amateur Radio Operators and
any Severe Weather Information received is directly passed
to the local National Weather Service Office.

Severe Weather Reports may also be passed On-Line using the forms located on the following pages: NWS in Mobile,Al . , NWS Birmingham, AL. or NWS Tallahassee.
These reports MUST be accurate and timely with only Severe Weather reports
that satify the NWS Severe Weather Criteria.

Those who are not Amateurs may monitor these Amateur frequencies
with a scanning radio as well as the NOAA Weather Radio Sites listed Below:

South Central Alabama - Dozier, AL. - 162.550 mhz.
North West Florida - Milton , FL.- 162.400 mhz.

These connectors are available at any RadioShack Store for .99 cents each and are rated for 20 amps.
