We traveled to sothwest France in April 2008 to experience the great Lot River valley region about 90 miles north of Toulouse. During our visit, we journeyed to Brive-la-Galliard, which is in south-central France, to visit Mau (F8BPN) and her husband Phillippe (F6ETI) at their home QTH and attend a radio club meeting of REF 19, which is the main club for Department 19 (a French department is something like our states). Mau is the president of the REF 19 club and the section manager, in ARRL terms.

We had a great time meeting Dominique, F6EPY, who has been on several dx-peditions (Martinique, Guadaloupe, Marqueses, Western Samoa, to name a few) who was a guest speaker at the meeting. Also, we spent a wonderful evening at Mau and Phillippe's home which included a French dinner cooked by Mau and lots of local area wine.
