My Outlook

The purpose of this web page is to get some insight into my outlook on life.

I try to see life through a positive point of view. However, sometimes that is not possible. Being an African-American male, my perspective may be somewhat skewed. From my point of view, things are very unfair in this country and world. I see many inequities in society in general. I think minorities get a rough time here in the United States. I've heard it said that if you are Black you need to be twice as good as whites to get the job. I think that statement is true in many respects.

Blacks are being systematical left outside the mainstream of America. The educational system is not allowing our brothers and sisters the kind of opportunities that are afforded whites and the affluent people of this country. Society has created a sub-culture that is not accepted by mainstream America. This sub-class has to exist outside the mainstream and therefore perpetuate itself and continue the cycle.

Our leaders and politicians are very much aware of this process, yet nothing is being done to correct it. The few Blacks and minorities who are able to bear and escape this cycle of destruction, are alienated from the very ones they were a part of at one time. These so called role models are usually elevated to high positions and cannot interact with the masses of poor inner-city people who they once were a part of.

More importantly, the infrastructure is so designed as to foster gang and drug cultures in these communities. There isn't much job opportunity or advancement within the boundaries of the inner-city. The large influx of Mexican migrant workers have worked to exasperate the problem. Now the few inner-city jobs that were available are quickly being soaked up by the migrant workers who have illegally made this country their home.

There is method to the alienation and oppression of the inner-city and Blacks. With the large number of Spanish-Speaking children pouring into the public school system, part of the day of instruction has to be used strictly for teaching English to them. This activity hurts the Black child who already knows English. Does the President and the local politicians know this? Of course they do. However, I believe there are those in this country who have ill feelings toward Blacks and don't want to see them prosper.

I spend my life helping people. It doesn't matter what that persons color or race is. I want to make this a better world to live in. I think there are others who feel as I do. The world is as it is because of people sending the wrong message to the youth. Our future depends on the youth. We must send the right signals by being an example for them. I chose to work in a community in which I was once a member of. I am qualified to teach anywhere in California, but I want to break the cycle. Someone has to make a sacrifice. Join me and make your sacrifice.

I know there is someone who will get the wrong idea about this statement. Frankly, I don't care. Every time a Black man speaks his opinion, he has to be a radical or something negative. I feel that my opinion is valid and well founded. I can give you good sound examples and reasons for my viewpoint. Which ever way you take this page, it doesn't change the facts or the reality of the situation. And I love the real deal.
