amir is originally from Leyte, Philippines and now resides in San Diego.  He was first licensed in
1989 as KC6EFG.  Right after he got his license, he was off to the local candy store (HRO).  His wife Rose, KC6KPA, always reminds him of his unkept promise:  "I PROMISE, THIS WILL THE ONLY RADIO I'LL BUY".  He hadn't even started studying for his exam to upgrade and yet he already has a radio waiting for him.  That radio served him as a motivator, he got to get the license in order to use the brand new rig.  And of course he finally upgraded and get on to HF band.  The simple act of picking the radio got him hooked and he was destined to become a ham radio operator.  "Talking to people in far away places is my first impression of ham radio and that is what I like to do, "said Ramir.  As he got more experience in the air, he also began to understand more of the ham lingo.  Picking out call signs in such a file up among all those QRMs is quite amazing and that's what Ramir does best.  He gained lots of friends all over the world through amateur radio and he's been an active DXer for so many years now.  Since then, Ramir upgraded to Advanced class and kept his call sign N6WJN.
