My farthest contact on Six meters was this last June to Quebec Canada, just using 10 WATTS! I have a Yaesu Ft860R and a 5 element Yagi 70 feet in the air. My 2 meter is a HTX212 with a homebrew J-Pole. Both units are mobiles as I am working on a tight budget for this wonderful hobby. On August 7th,2003 I was hit head on by a 18 wheeler, which has changed my whole life from that day forward. After the truck hit me, it went through the guard rail and over the side of a mountain.
