KD5TKR: History

My name is Charles Blythe and my callsign is KD5TKR. I was born and spent most of my life in San Angelo, Texas. I graduated from Ballinger High School in Ballinger, Texas in 1996, and have since lived in both Sweetwater and Abilene, Texas. I received my associates degree in Computer Networking and Electronics from Texas State Technical College in Sweetwater in the spring of 2004. I have been a licensed ham since July of 2002. I have always been interested in electronics and radio, but I have to thank Chad Goodman (KD5SMK) for convincing me to become an amateur radio operator. Since then I have become interested in repeater building and radio law. With the purchase of an IC-706MKIIG using proceeds from my Trash to Treasure program, I hope to become involved in SSB on VHF and UHF as well as work on my morse code skills
