KD5TKR: Current ProjectsMy current projects include helping Gary with the BCARN 6m repeater project and building the new 443.850 repeater. Gary and myself are hoping to have the 6m repeater online within the next several months. Gary also has coordination for a UHF repeater on 443.850. Due to a large amount of equipment that John Kilgore and myself recently acquired, I will be taking over the UHF repeater project from Gary. The 443.850 repeater will be a continuous duty 75W Micor Station with a Decibel Products duplexer. I have a full set of repeater cards, documentation and a portable test set so once the crystals are installed tuning up should be no problem. I will most likely tune the 443.850 down to 50W or so to prolong the life of the power amplifier. The site for the 443.850 is at approximately 600ft HAAT and with 7/8th feedline and a DB-420 performance should be similar to the 443.100. There are also plans to add battery backup and a 10m remote base to the 443.850. Because of this, Gary will keep the coordination and remain as control operator until I upgrade to General. Caution, Construction ZoneThis site is currently undergoing major renovation. Please bear with me as the site is fleshed out with content. If you find any problems with the site, make sure to let me know. | |
