KD5MZE's Ham Page.

Hello my name is Larry Turner. My QHT is Galveston Island which is located just off the upper Texas coast. I have been a Shortwave Listener (swl), for many years but I finally made my dream come true and became a Ham. I have regreted not becoming a Ham earlier in life, but I'm having so much fun on 10 Meter that I really don't have time to think about it. I'm also active on 2 Meter. Since I'm a relatively new Ham I don't have everything together the way I'd like to as yet. Here is a picture of my hastily constructed Shack. On the top shelf from left to right you see my 10 amp power supply, antenna tuner, and my DX-440 Receiver. The next shelf shows my Trunk Scanner, my HTX-252 Two Meter Tranceiver, and my HTX-10 Ten Meter Tranceiver. The antenna I use for Ten Meter is a handmade halfwave dipole 15 feet from ground level. It does a great job.

If you would like to get started in Ham Radio, a great place to visit is the American Radio Relay League Home Page. Or ARRL for short. To visit ARRL, click on the link below.
