The First Hunt

For our first hunt, the Batesville Area Radio Club (BARC) had Tracey, KD5ATN, hide in her Chevy Blazer with a Realistic HTX-202 plugged into the cigarette lighter. Hunters were divided into two groups. First, Mark, KC5EVZ, and Robbie, KD5ATO, and Katie were in their Jimmy, and second, Al, KD5HWN, and Noel, KD5HPK, were in Noel's Jimmy. Both teams worked together, and used the local repeater, 147.270+Mhz, to coordinate their efforts.Everyone involved had lost of fun as they took readings and estimated the whereabouts of the "fox". This was very educational, especially for me, and also very rewarding. Mark, KC5EVZ, and Robbie, KD5ATO, and Katie were the first to find Tracey, KD5ATN, and so Mark, KC5EVZ, will hide for the next hunt.
The "fox" was hidden by Robbie-Anne, KD5ATO, instead of Mark, KC5EVZ. She hid well, but Mark came through and found her. Noel, KD5HPK, didn't bring any directional equipment, so he was at a great disadvantage. Maybe next time, though.
The "fox" for next month will again be remotely controlled. Who knows where Mark, KC5EVZ will hide it, or will he let someone else?
