Stop number Three Iredell County
City of Statesville, North Carolina
Iredell County Amateur Radio Society

Arrival Time:  2:30 p.m.
Busy, busy, bush.   As you can see all was working to make contacts.  They are schedule to run as a 5A station.  They were not sure about a
packet station all station were on the air when I arrived.  The grill master is busy setting up the grill and calling for the meat to get him started.

Lots going on 4 beams in the air working 20, 40, 80 and anything else that might come along.  Using a dipole for CW.  With Don (W4DON)
busy at work doing CW.  I did have time to talk with the grill master and Rick (KE4TEP) with the status and intent of Field Day.  They normal have
a big turn out during the day but Rick expects to drop off at night time because of being a 5A station.  Don was busy doing the dit, dah's and I sent
Rhoda to take picture of their tent set-up.

Left my NTS message with Rick to be passed to me me on their FD status.  Worse case NTS traffic will be passed on the CW evening net.  All
stations manned with operator DEC Mike (WA6KWW), and ADEC  Russell (KF4AEX) out with illness, Catherine (WB4CAT) working another
Field Day.  It was lonely at the top.  When I arrived home Saturday evening O had a message recording from Catherine with my NTS message,
thanks Catherine.

Two tents are better then one.  Don (W4DON) in distant gazebo is the 40m CW setup.  Blue tent is Rick (KE4TEP), on 10 & 15 meter station setup.

Duel beam, 10 & 15 meter beams on one tower with rotor. HyGain monobanders on 10 and 15 meters at 30 feet.

John (WB4WRY) the Grill master (center) asking me how I, (KD4OZI) (sitting)  wanted my burger.  My statement was burger, I was thinking burgers only come in pairs.  At right is Lee (KE4ERH)

A call for help, operator request a logger.   Dennis (N4WHK) sitting and Johnny (KE4NUN)  standing.

This was Walt's first FD and he did great and appears to be enjoying it.
