Stop number two
Caldwell County
City of Hudson, North Carolina
Lenoir Amateur Radio Club
Arrival Time: 12:55 p.m.
Talked with the DEC of Area-12 James N4EUX and
the Caldwell County EC Michelle - KD4YTU and other members. They plan to run
3A, equipment was on line waiting on the generator to fire up. The generator
belongs to Caldwell County and has been stored by the county for the last year.
They were in the process of draining the old gas and providing new gas to get
the generator started. James said that they would probably take over the
storage of the generator for proper maintains and for a needed maintenance to
make sure it would be ready in an emergency.
Caldwell County is big on CERT in Caldwell County. Do not plan on having a GOTA station.
They will run HF,CW, Packet.
Michelle expect operators to be busy today and tomorrow as
Field Day is a Clubs/RACES/ARES/CERT event.
Many folks available during day light hours but as with most counties short on
the night shift.
Rhoda and I was given a Lenoir ARC ballpoint pen. James said they normally
give them out at public events their response teams participate in.
