Field Day Start Up
June 23rd 2007
My number one driver for the trip was my wife Rhoda. She
also inherited the camera for taking these pictures. Thanks to Rhoda for helping
me during this years Field Day, "turn right Rhoda, I said right, no not here

I spent time with Cliff (KC4AIF) discussing their Field Day. Cliff said they were a 2F station planed on doing 6 meters, HF, 2 meters for the talk in and possibly APRS. Their packet expert over the last few years Richard (W4LN) was out of town and their Satellite person had moved to another state. Cliff said that Kenneth (KI4LAF) was the grill master and they should have a lost of folks around Supper time. They will be people there at night time but normally just have enough to man one rig. All the antenna's were up this morning but they were messing around with installing a dipole on the main antenna mask for the RV. I wanted to play with the big antenna but Cliff would show me where the buttons to make it go up and down were at.
Left my NTS message with Cliff to be passed to me me on their FD status.

Yes, it's real air-conditioned but as you can
see it has a full view of the outside. |
Operator up and aware from his actions does not look like that he
has kick the solar heat to the on position.
|
Always a pleasure to meet Jackie (KA4CMC) the Vice President of
their club. |
