Boy was the trip fun. I drove over 8500 miles on my goldwing this trip. It lasted 2 weeks and even got in some fishing in. I hung out with the folks on the YLI SSB international net on 14.332 which kept me company along the way. By the way the bike sports a Kenwood TS-50 and a Texas Bug Catcher antenna.
For you mountain lovers here is a few pictures. Pictures can not describe or put into perspective how beautiful our country really is.Here are a few pictures of silver falls just outside of Salem Oregon. A trip to Steve's place was also pretty cool. He enjoys building aerobatic airplanes and replicas as well as performing in airshows. He was working on a H1 racer while I was there.Oh yes and cant forget the St. Louis arch. The real arch picture did not turn out so well as I was going 65 down the interstate when I took a picture of it and the delay in the camera worked so well that there was a billboard dead center of the picture. I was taking a picture of this bridge but still got the arch in there. The redwoods were also pretty cool. Here are a few shots of the redwoods. And last but not least the Cadillac Ranch The gent that was riding the BMW told me about it as we were stopped on the interstate taking off some plumage. He said it was only a few miles up the road so we had to check it out.
It was a really nice trip as I only went through 2 miles of rain. That has been the driest trip so far as I have only went on three road trips. The first one was to Reno to watch the airplane races and that had to be the coolest of all of my travels.
