Well this is my first year back to the competition circuit and am having a ball. Thanks to my friend Berry Hawkins who produces one of the finest sailplanes for this type of flying here in Florida. I started out with a Infinity Star which is a F3B job sporting a RG 15 section. The Starlite was produced a few months later which sported a SD7035 section which is unbelievable.
I was caught with my pants down in a few contests which the wind had picked up to over 15 knots and should have been flying the Star but taped on about 3 pounds of ballast to the top of the wing and she flew great. Now I have provisions for about 4.5 pounds of ballast on the Starlite and carries it quite well.
Here is where all the test flying happens.
