Rebuilding Mark II Knobs

Before and After

Knobs on top row typical of what happens when the setscrew is over tightened on a Mark II Knob

Inner ring of knob is cracked. Area between inner ring and outer knob skirt wall will be filled in with J.B. Weld to restore knob to a usable state.

Work the J.B. Weld in carefully. I used popsicle sticks "drawn and quartered" (split down the middle and cut in half to yield 4 pieces per stick). This gives one applicator per knob for doing up to 4 knobs. Use the applicator like a trowel, working a little into the recess at a time. Clean up excess on knob skirt with denatured alcohol while still soft. .
