RadioThon 1999

No this is not April fools, it's RADIOTHON 99. TSC was very well represented when the Roosevelt Roads radio station (101.5) hosted a RadioThon to raise money for the Navy Marine Relief drive.

Here is how it worked.
People would call in to request a song and they would pledge a buck
To dedicate a song was 2 bucks.
If a song was being played that you didn't like, you could request to bump that song with your choice. Here is where money was made. Some songs were up to an amount of over $200.00
There was also items donated and auctioned off.
If you thought you had some talent, you could even come in and for $25.00 take over to DJ.

Check out some of the pics of what went on.

Here you have the pledge table busy with people calling in and requesting their favorite song to be played or to bump the one playing.

On the phone staying busy is Marty Fredrickson taking calls while the DJ's play the music.

Once the pledge was taken, it was given to the runner and that person would locate the song and give it to the DJ.

No the guy in the right is not a real DJ. Him and his posie payed $25.00 to be on the air. Eve is really running the show.

I just wonder where did they get these folks.
They didn't do to bad and besides, it was for a good cause.

"OK, just tell them your name and  the time of the day. Think you can handle that?"

Oh yea, got to get some more money. Here is Pete Cruz taking your cash.

Here is Pete in the inside of the booth. As you see, Eve is really doing all the work.
Who is that in the background??
