KC3WD Rover!

KC3WD Rover during the VHF contest June 2002

I joined Matt, KC3WD, in rovering around in the VHF contest. We drove about 1000 miles in Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Maryland activating 12 grid squares! (What's a grid square?)

Before the contest, we stopped by the K8GP (The Grid Pirates!) operating site on Spruce Knob. Those guys really work at setting up a massive operation!

What a ride!
I had a good time roving. Maybe Matt can talk me into doing it again in the fall...
