Horn Speaker
The horn &
Atwater Kent cone speakers
The horn on the left is the station
speaker and is wired to the output of the audio amp. This is the
horn that was made to go with the Radiola 3 broadcast set as well as
other early RCA radios.
I actually have 2 of these horns of the same model. They have a
pleasant tone and it is a good speaker to listen to CW or AM phone
on. The driver is original, being a 2000 ohm electromagnetic
element. This allows a direct connection to the plate circuit of
an audio amplifier without the need for an audio matching transformer.
The Atwater Kent cone speaker has a bit better fidelity, and it would
also work into the amplifier, but that speaker will be paired up with
the 20C broadcast set.
