Welcome to Weather Watch
Weather Watch has integrated
the most valuable weather information on the internet into one
website. This page is dedicated to the storm spotters of
Central Illinois. KC9S is a member of the Amateur Radio
Emergency Service.
Original Content Features Now
Available (9/16/2006)
Weather Watch now brings you
more original weather observations recorded by KC9S.
Check out the new live pan/tilt/zoom radar webcam, APT satellite images,
severe weather indicator, and weather station all generated from this website.
The radar webcam allows users to control the webcam to monitor
conditions near Sullivan, IL. This camera located at 58'
elevation is linked to the NWS doppler radar and allows users
to track storms live. The APT satellite images are
received directly from NOAA's APT satellites in the 137 MHz
range. The severe
weather indicator takes the SPC's severe weather forecast and
creates a convenient user friendly icon at the top of this
page based on the weather threats. The KC9S Weather
station allows you to monitor the current weather
conditions in Central IL.
New Severe WX
Indicator!!! (Updated 4/1/2006)
If you haven't noticed, I've put a new

Know When Severe Weather
Is Going to Strike Ahead of Time
If you live in Central
Illinois (roughly Peoria to Effingham to the Illinois river to
the Indiana border) and would like to receive advance notice
of potential severe weather events in your email, then sign up
for EWAN. EWAN is a free service offered by Weather
Watch to warn people about potential severe weather
events. If the Storm Prediction Center issues a slight
risk of severe weather in one of their forecasts, an EWAN
alert will be emailed to you. In the alert, a short
description of the event will let you know what the reasoning
is for issuing the alert and the type of weather possible. Be
prepared!!!
When you sign up, please send your name,
callsign (if applicable), county, and email
address. |
