HIDDEN VALLEYS AMATEUR RADIO CLUB
December 3, 2006
1. The Hidden Valleys Amateur Radio Club held its annual Christmas party at the Windsor Hotel in Platteville’s overflow room. Following the meal, president John Kuntz called the meeting to order about 8 P.M. Present: Matt Alexander, Lucy and Arnold Alt, Hank Crapp KB9QBM, Hap Daus KC9BGA, Barbara Daus, Paul DeWitte K9OT, Peg Haese KB9LIE, Art Evans N9KQ, John Kuntz KB9RYI, Pam Kuntz KB9YHB, Larry Pink KC9CSQ, Perry Rockwell W8SSA, Kent Scheuerell K9ZMU, Carolyn Scheuerell, Roy Shaver N9NUZ, Dee Stojan KC9FCC, and Randy Stojan WV9T.
2. The secretary’s report was APPROVED as printed.
3. The treasurer’s report was APPROVED. (Nearly same as last month).
4. Hank gave brief report on Red Cross.
5. Hap gave brief report in several parts: a) he has new job writing parking tickets at UWP; b) he is new EC for Grant County and recently attended meeting for EC’s. Asked for inventories from all ARES members on equipment, capabilities, etc. for the state data base; c) reported that Julie Loeffelholz will offer a class at January 8th meeting on Incident Command, with a second class to be offered at March meeting. Hap will also confer with attorney about HVARC getting 501C status. And, Roy and Hap will shortly complete application for frequency assignment for the repeater.
6. Education. Randy reported nothing new; however, Barbara Daus has given strong oral indication that she will take next class contingent on certain conditions being met. Roy reported on status of his tutoree student.
7. Roy reported Motorola UHF repeater with two Sinclair cavities, along with a long run of coax is secure in a secret place in northwest Platteville. The Sinclair antenna was not found by the deliverer and was hence not delivered. Roy has written thank you letter to John Webb K0OT in Dubuque for his noteworthy efforts, including delivery.
8. There was some unauthorized comment and mirth, but president John Kuntz soon restored the usual high level of dignity and decorum which are characteristic of his meetings.
9. There being no further business, a dues-paying (but unknown) member moved to adjourn. It received a second from another anonymous member and the meeting ADJOURNED at 8:20 P.M on a cold Sunday night.
