This is a homebrew morse code key that I put together. It is fashioned like a similar one I seen made in an article of QST. As I don't have a key, and I am trying to create an all homebrew QRP station, I figured this would be a good project. All the parts were gotten from the local home improvment store, and cost right around $5. All in all, I think it took me about an hour or two to put it all together. The part that took the longest was cutting and sanding the wood base. The key iself is a 3" metal hinge. The knob is a kitchen cabinet relplacement knob. All the hardware is 10-24 screws and nuts, except the screw that came with the knob, and the tensioning spring screw which are 6-36 I believe. Images are below and you can get a copy of the article in QST from either the ARRL or your local library as I did, if they carry QST. The issue is September 2006.
