Well my name is Dan. I live in Illinois,Crystal Lake EN52uf.I just listen to 2m and 440. I dont really talk DX cause I dont have 6m rig, but im working on it. Im also working on code so i can get a general class. Then i can work lower bands.Im ARES and working on become a RACES. Well im mic shy. I really dont talk,just listen.I goto culbs meeting and like the people there and learn new stuff and meet new people. I have an ICOM ic-v8000 moblie working on getting a dual bander. I am a Licensed Amateur Radio Operator, more commonly know as Ham radio as you might see on license plates. When disasters hit, the things that might go out in a disaster is. Are your home phones, cell phone, and some cases police and local goverment communication system.
