Greetings, my name is Jerry Purcell. I’d like to welcome you to my web site. It isn’t much, but it is my own little corner of the World Wide Web. I reside in Euclid, Ohio. Euclid is a suburb of Cleveland. It is nestled along the south shore of lake Erie. I was born to Patrick and Dolores Purcell. I have four sisters and two brothers. I also have eight nephews and three nieces. I graduated from Lake Catholic High School in 1979. I received my bachelor’s degree in 1985 from Cleveland State University.

I currently work for the Golden Age Centers of Greater Cleveland (www.gacgc.org). I’m a licensed social worker working in the Golden Age Centers Downtown Cluster. The GAC provides a wide variety of supportive and recreational services to low income seniors in the greater Cleveland area. These services range from a daily congregate and home delivered hot noontime meal to assisting with home health services, homemaker assistance, health screenings, wellness programs, and overnight trips.

I have a wide variety of hobbies and interests. I’m a big sports enthusiast. I enjoy both college and professional sports. My favorite sport is baseball. My favorite baseball team is the Baltimore Orioles. I enjoy the outdoors. I enjoy camping and being around the water. I’m quite fortunate to live near the lake. I enjoy the peace and tranquility that the lake offers. I belong to the terrific fraternity of amateur radio operators. My call sign is KC8LAU. I currently hold a general class license. My goal is to one day upgrade to an extra class license. The extra class license is the highest license class a ham radio operator can achieve. I belong to several radio clubs in northeast Ohio. I’m an active member of the Chagrin Lagoons Amateur Radio Association (www.qsl.net/n8kt). I also belong to the Lake County Amateur Radio Association, (www.hamradio.org/lcara) the Lake Erie Amateur Radio Association (www.apk.net/leara) and the Cuyahoga Amateur Radio Society (www.cars.org). You can find me modulating on some of the 2 meter and 70 cm repeaters in northeastern Ohio.
