Away
From The Radio
I work at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Indian Head, MD. I work in the CAD/PAD (Cartridge Actuated Device/Propellant Actuated Device) Department as a Mechanical Engineer. I am in the CAD Service Life/Quality Evaluation Branch. Our job is to make sure that when the aircrew escape system is needed that it will function properly. The pictures below depict what happens if we we do our job effectively.

Other Interests
While I was at WVU Tech I was a member of the Mini Baja Buggy Team, and really enjoyed working with the other guys on the team. I attended this years race (2002) in Wisconsin, but we didn't do so hot...enough said about that. The picture below shows the buggy we built and raced last year in Troy, Ohio at the Midwest Competition This is basically the same buggy we raced this year as well.

West Virginia Sheriff's Association Youth Leadership Academy (Sheriffs Camp)
The
West Virginia Sheriffs' Youth Leadership Academy is an annual, week-long
summer residential program of recreational and educational development for
teenage boys and girls from throughout the state.
The Academy presents accurate information on drug and
alcohol abuse, juvenile violence prevention, law enforcement responsibilities
and the processes of county government.
I started out as a cadet in the camp in1993, and have been going back each year since. I have been on the staff for 5 years now, and I wouldn't miss this week for anything. Thanks to Kendra Beckett (another staff member) we have a web page now. Here is the link: http://sheriffsacademy.tripod.com Check it out.
