He hides by day,
and searches by night.
The last known unicorn,
with the coat of angelic
white.
It's almost as if he's magic,
the possessor of powers unknown.
He keeps the hope of finding
another,
but he is painfully alone.
Being seen by mankind,
would mean instant death.
Due to life's attained ignorance,
they would take his last
breath.
He wants so badly to nuzzle,
close to someone safe and
warm.
But this hope slowly fades,
as does night with coming
morn.
He remains forever brave,
and holds his head up high.
Sometimes on a quiet night,
you can hear his mournful
cry.
He will continue his search,
until his dying day.
The majestic and beautiful
unicorn,
who is perfect in every way.

They say there is a far off
land
with unicorns and wizards
grand
where all the little ducks
and fish
can swim and play just as
they wish
where horses talk and understand
the cows and pigs and chickens
and
I'm going there someday.
It is a land where dragons
dwell
and all the knights think
that's just swell
the castles all have turrets
tall
with archers guarding every
wall
with maidens fairest in the
land
their kings and queens are
gentle and
I'm going there one day.
But wait, there is a forest
too
where witches stir a deadly
brew
with eye of toad and ear
of newt
with tongue of babe and lizard
mute
but there the unicorn trees
stand
to guard me from all evil
and
I'm going there someday.
If I could have but one last
wish
I probably would make it
this
that we could simply disappear
and leave behind what we
know here
You'd ride your trusty steed

go forth to kill the dragons
and
we're going there, someday.
I know there is a far off
land
with unicorns and wizards

a place where people such
as we
cannot grow old but young
will be
it's lovely there, you understand
come, let me take you by
the hand
were going there...today.
