A group of Treasure Valley Hams have formed a group that is interested
in experimenting with ballooning and using Amateur Radio and APRS to further
our knowledge in communications.
Our first flight is scheduled for May 15th, 1999 . If the weather
permits, we will launch from Boise ID for about a 3 hr test ( 2 hours rise,
and 1 hour return ). Our pay load will consist of the following;
- APRS transmitter on 144.39
- 2 M simplex repeater - Frequency to be determined
- Basic Stamp Controller
- Gyroscope - Design help from HP and built by a local school
- Battery power supply
- Parachute for return flight
