Our family has been interested in Emergency and Family Prepardness for years. With a family of seven children you always needed to be prepared for the unexpected: mechanical breakdowns, change of weather conditions, and even strikes. We became amateur radio operators to be able to respond or assist family and others during their time of need. My son and I enjoyed the time we were able to work together in our local Search and Rescue unit. We utilized ham radio as our principal mode of communication
